After the promotion in Korčula, now promotion in Zagreb of the art book by Božena Končić Badurina published by Galerija Miroslav Kraljević and Grey Area.
About author
Božena Končić Badurina was born in 1967 in Zagreb. She took a degree in German and Russian language and literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb in 1995. She also took a BFA at the printmaking department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb in 1996. She lives and works in Zagreb. In her artistic work she uses and combines various media, with an emphasis on drawing, prints, text and performance. In the last dozen years she has organized a number of performance situations that often involve the public and invert the usual roles of performer and viewer in the performance space. In her site-specific works she devotes particular attention to the nexus of relationships that arise between users/tenants of given spaces and their physical, architectural and historic features. Some of her solo exhibitions in recent years include Silver City, Vladimir Bužančić Gallery, Zagreb, 2018; Franz-Jürgensstrasse 12, Kunstaspekte, Düsseldorf, 2015; Guide to the Gallery, Forum Gallery, Zagreb, 2013; Space for the Public, Museum of Modern Art Dubrovnik, 2012; More Passive Than Every Passivity, Art in General, New York, 2010; She has taken part in many group exhibitions like NO STOP NON STOP, Lothringer13 Halle, München, 2018; 2nd Industrial Art Biennial “On the Shoulders of Fallen Giants”, People’s Museum, Labin, 2018; PRVO PA ŽENSKO / FIRST BORN GIRL, feminist culture and action festival, Frosina hall, Skopje, 2018. Her work has won her a number of prizes, among others: Third Prize at the 49th Croatian Film Art Review, 2017; Gold Medal for Use of Space for Performance (for Croatian selection), Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space, Prague, 2015; Best Exhibition Award in 2007, Croatian Association of Visual Artists (HDLU), 2007. She has taken part in several artist-in-residence programs like Q21, MuseumsQuartier Residency, Vienna, 2019; gray area/GMK, Korčula, 2017; Kunstaspekte/Kulturamt, Düsseldorf 2015; Art in General, New York, 2010.
