intervantion in public space
Armina Pilav's residence, whose interest for the river Neretva basin manifested through an array of investigations, was instigated by the question of potable water supply on the island, and especially in the city of Korčula. Potable water for Korčula (as well as for the large portion of Pelješac, and Mljet and Lastovo) comes exactly from the Neretva basin.
In one week that Armina Pilav spent in Korčula, in collaboration with cultural anthropologist Sonja Leboš, project manager and researcher in grey) (area, the investigative work on the subject of water supply of Korčula from the Neretva basin (the well Prud) commenced. Archive research in the Archive Centre Korčula-Lastovo in Žrnovo village, and fieldwork were carried out, and some interviews were conducted.
On Friday June 26, 2020 on the bulletin boards in the city of Korčula we put the analogue maps by Armina Pilav (in collaboration with Leboš), with the invitation to the citizens to respond, in order to collectively rethink the most important common good that we have (after air that we breathe) - potable water.
With this small intervention in the public space of the city of Korčula by Armina Pilav the grey) (area begins the long term project about the infrastructural systems on the island, within our program lines Critical Tourism and Politics of Green Spaces.
Intervention will be periodically present in the public space until the end of October, as the call to the citizenry. After that we will continue with the research and data harvesting.
